Passionate about stories with a human interest

Meet Sue

Growing up in North Wales with a mother who taught English as a second language and a father who was a modern languages teacher, it was not unusual for Sue to find herself in the company of people from other countries and cultures.

A keen ear for languages and a strong interest in travel later drew Sue to a career in international development with regular opportunities to travel to East and Southern Africa. Together with an extended period living in Zimbabwe, Sue forged new friendships whilst experiencing the wonderful, and not-so-wonderful and she took notes – lots of them!

Several of Sue’s feature articles and interviews were published and broadcast in Africa and the UK.  But it was the human interest stories that fascinated her the most and set in her a desire to write more creatively about her out-of-the-ordinary travels.

A number of years later, spurred on by family, friends and a creative writing class tutor, Sue eventually began to flesh out the ideas for her first novel. Fast forward to October 2020 and ‘How the Mzungu Finds Her Feet’ was published.
